Steelers fans get bad news from local columnist

Not what Steelers fans wanted to read.

The long offseason wait for fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers is nearly over, as they'll finally get to watch their team take the field Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. And they'll be looking to build off last year's 9-7-1 record, but of course, they'll be doing it without the recently retired franchise stalwart quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

But if this prediction from Trib Live reporter Mark Madden is any indication, Steelers fans are in for a tough season.

"Here’s my Steelers prediction. You won’t like it.

The Steelers will go 7-10. Coach Mike Tomlin’s first losing season. (What a relief that will be. The streak of years without a playoff win will be extended to six, however.)

I’m not totally convinced of my prediction. This Steelers team has more variables than any in recent memory. A lot of things could go different ways, and drastically so.

.........

You want to root for something? Root for luck. Luck is the Steelers’ best chance.

Root for Trubisky, too. Be fair. If you’re chanting Pickett’s name at Acrisure Stadium, you might as well be cheering for the Steelers to lose."

Well, way to rain on our parade, Mark. Do you agree with his sentiment?
