There may not be a single coaching assistant in the NFL today who is more maligned than Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who has been feeling the heat because of the ineptitude of the offense under his tenure on the job.
And while head coach Mike Tomlin has voiced his support for Canada by saying there are no plans to make any coaching changes, they may soon have no choice.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, sources have confirmed that Canada will be on the hot seat if things don't improve in a major way and quickly.
"Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada and Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael have received the support of their head coaches publicly. But if production doesn’t ramp up, their respective seats will be hot, based on conversations with sources close to the situation," Rapoport reports.
Take a look at these stats that the Steelers had racked up prior to today's Week 5 matchup at home against the Baltimore Ravens.
