Very well deserved for him.
The Football Feed
Outside linebacker T.J. Watt has called the city of Pittsburgh home since he was taken by the Steelers with the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he's grown into one of the best defensive players in the NFL today.
And thanks to his efforts so far in the young 2023 season, he's being recognized by the NFL by being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month.
This marks the 4th time that Watt has earned AFC Defensive Player of the Month honors, with his previous wins coming in November 2019, September 2020, and November 2020.
As it currently stands, Watt leads the NFL with six sacks. What's more, he's also tied for the NFL lead in quarterback pressures with 19, forced fumbles with two, and is ranked second in the NFL with five tackles for a loss while also having racked up a total of 12 quarterback hits.
Needless to say, Watt is critical to any success that the Steelers will be enjoying in 2023, and he's off to a fantastic start.
