The Pittsburgh Steelers are down a member of head coach Mike Tomlin's staff.
Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that linebackers coach/senior defensive assistant Brian Flores has been hired by the Minnesota Vikings as their new defensive coordinator. Previously, he had interviewed with the Cardinals, Falcons, Browns and Broncos.
As you may remember, it was Flores who filed a class action lawsuit in district court in New York earlier last year, alleging that not only was he a victim of the "Rooney Rule", but that the NFL is run like a slave plantation. He soon added the Houston Texans into his lawsuit, as he alleges that they didn't hire him as a retaliation for filing suit against the League.
Flores was dismissed by the Miami Dolphins in January of 2022 after three seasons on the job and a 24-25 record. He would soon be hired by the Steelers, where he spent the last season.
