One of the biggest storylines that will feature in this NFL offseason is the status of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has already been linked to a handful of teams in the past before eventually agreeing to a contract extension last year. But now that they missed out on the postseason, those rumors and whispers are continuing to grow louder.
Many feel that the Packers will in fact decide to move on from Rodgers and give 2020 1st round draft selection Jordan Love his chance under center as the starter.
Per Tony Pauline of The Pro Football Network, it will be the New York Jets who try and push the hardest to bring Rodgers aboard:
"In fact, one source said that general manager Joe Douglas is admitting to people in the league the franchise will go all out in the attempt to bring Rodgers to Gang Green. And it only makes sense.
The team is in desperate need of a signal-caller, with Zach Wilson looking more and more like a draft bust. Factor in owner Woody Johnson’s comments not long ago that he’d be willing to pay whatever is necessary for a quarterback, and it all adds up."
And a move to the Jets would certainly make sense for Rodgers, considering they recently hired Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator. As you may remember, it was Hackett who served in the same position with Green Bay for both of Rodgers' NFL MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021.
“Love Hack. Hack is my guy. Love him and Megan and the kids,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this week. “They’re really special to me. We really bonded when he was in Green Bay. He made it fun. He made the room fun. He made the weeks fun.”
How would Rodgers look in a different green uniform?
