There are few more controversial players in recent NFL history than Antonio Brown, who is now out of football's biggest league after having abandoned his former Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates during a game two seasons ago at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets.
But now, thanks to Brown, the NFL is introducing a revised personal conduct policy that stems from when he had not disclosed to the New England Patriots that he was being sued for rape and sexual assault. The NFL is now requiring all players to disclose all legal matters to their respective clubs before being allowed to officially sign on the dotted line.
"In addition, active and prospective players have an obligation to promptly disclose any such incidents to their club or the league office before signing a contract with a club," the revised personal conduct policy states.
According to analyst Mike Florio, the "the revisions did indeed result from the Brown case 'and a few others.'"
Brown is still affecting the NFL these days, even despite having been out of the League for over a year now!
