It was perhaps the most bizarre situation involving a National Football League kicker that we've ever seen last season. Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher somehow missed a total of four extra point attempts over the course of his team's postseason victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what could have been an absolutely disastrous situation.
The good news for Dallas was that his misses didn't affect the final outcome, and they were able to overcome his inexplicable misses. And despite making field goals from 25 and 45 yards out against the San Francisco 49ers the following week, an extra point attempt (that appeared to be veering wide left) was blocked by the defense.
The Cowboys made the call to move on from Maher during the offseason, and he's since found a new home. He's officially signed with the Denver Broncos:
It wasn't like this for Maher during the regular season, as he converted 90.6% of his field goal attempts and 94.3% of his extra point attempts.
