The Dallas Cowboys are going to be without quarterback Dak Prescott for the next several weeks as he suffered an injury during last Weeks' 19-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; he's since undergone surgery and is on the shelf for at least the next two months.
The Cowboys will not be acquiring outside help at the quarterback position, according to team owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Needless to say, tomorrow's game against the Cincinnati Bengals is a must-win, as teams that begin a season with an 0-2 mark rarely rebound to qualify for the NFL postseason.
Take a look at what popular sports personality Colin Cowherd had to say about Dallas' situation, and how they can avoid a complete and total collapse:
“With that same injury old Drew Brees was out five weeks. If you remember, the Saints went 5-0 with Teddy Bridegwater," he said. "If you look at the schedule, they’re going to get their ears boxed in by the Bengals but then they get the Giants and Washington, and Dak could be back by the Rams [Week 5] or Eagles [Week 6] game, you’re fine. ‘THE SKY IS FALLING!’ I got news for you – Dallas’ sky wasn’t very high to begin with, there’s not much of a fall. This was a football team that got worse everywhere; at weapons, o-line, pass rush, coach… There is no reason to panic, you’re not getting Garoppolo, I said it yesterday. Whenever I heard 6-8 weeks with a pro athlete, to me it’s 5-6 weeks, sometimes sooner. Dak is a big, strong, young guy, he’s going to heal really quickly, it’s all going to be okay.”
The Cowboys and Bengals kick off tomorrow from AT&T Stadium at 4:25 PM EST.
