Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams once again found himself in legal trouble after being arrested Sunday in Frisco on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
This isn't the first time that he's run afoul of the law. He was suspended during his collegiate days at the University of Mississippi after being charged with sexual battery, and also had an arrest warrant issued after being involved in a two-vehicle crash after traveling unsafely at 98 MPH through a 55 MPH zone.
The Cowboys are well aware of his past history, and what he needs to do moving forward.
"I had a chance to visit with Sam, he knows what he needs to do, we all can do better," Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday. "I believe in Sam Williams. I obviously did when we drafted him and even more so now. I've seen him grow in so many different ways. He needs to slow down. He knows that. That's the first step."
He could be facing a fine or a suspension thanks to his actions, which violate the NFL's personal conduct policy.
