Cowboys: “F**k whatever anybody else says”

Talk about a frank outlook!

Think the Dallas Cowboys care about what anyone else thinks? Think again.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs and assistant secondary coach Al Harris have a special saying that they like to refer to when outside noise attempts to become a distraction from their common goal of winning at all costs.

“He and I, we have a saying, ‘Outside of the building, F whatever anybody else says, good or bad'," Harris said of himself and Diggs. "The kid is still young, he’s still learning the position. He only has room to grow. … In my eyes, he’s actually playing better than he did last year. His eye discipline is so much more improved. He’s doing such a good job overall in coverage."

“When his eyes are in the right spot, it’s virtually impossible to throw the ball down the field at him. If his eyes are in the right spot and you put the ball down the field, I’m putting my money on him to come down with it.”

Diggs himself has 18 tackles (16 solo) so far this season, and has played a key role in his team's strong 6-2 start. Last season, he recorded a whopping 11 interceptions, and while his three in 2022 put him far off the mark of repeating last year's numbers, he and Harris aren't interested in anyone saying that he's not as effective.

"That kind of led to this approach," Harris said. "It's an amazing year ... but you consistently see people talking about what he's not doing well."

The Cowboys are now in preparations off their bye week to face the struggling Green Bay Packers.
