The good news for the Dallas Cowboys is that they were able to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather easily, winning by 31-14 final score to advance in the NFL postseason; they'll be taking on the San Francisco 49ers in their next matchup in a rematch of last year's postseason game.
But the bad news is the fact that kicker Brett Maher missed an NFL record four extra point attempts. Thankfully, it didn't come back to bite the Cowboys.
And while the Cowboys have already stated that they'll be continuing to roll with Maher as their kicker, they've added some insurance just in case he continues to struggle. They've signed Tristan Vizcaino as insurance:
Vizcaino has bounced around the NFL, having appeared briefly for a handful of teams including the Cowboys once before. He kicked in one game for the Cardinals and two games for the Patriots this season.
