Cowboys QB Dak Prescott addresses team's chances of success in 2022
Can the Cowboys repeat as NFC East champs?
It was a great regular season for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, who clinched the NFC East title for the 6th time since the NFL expanded to 32 teams and eight divisions in 2002 with a 12-5 mark.
However, their season came to an abrupt halt with a setback against the San Francisco 49ers in an 23-17 loss on Wild-Card weekend back in January.
The team that hits the field later this fall won't look the same, as the team has parted ways with the likes of Amari Cooper, Randy Gregory, La'el Collins, Greg Zuerlein, Connor Williams and Cedrick Wilson.
But don't talk to QB Dak Prescott about his team's chances of success being lessened as the new season approaches.
"We know what we have in this locker room and we know what we can be,” Prescott said, via Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com. “Talent is one thing, but if you don’t fulfill it, it doesn’t really mean anything. So just from the names and stuff like that, we got young players that just haven’t had a chance to make a name for themselves. I’m excited for those guys to be able to do that and for them to prove people wrong."
“I know what this team has and the men that they have and the coaches and the leadership," he continued. "We definitely didn’t take a step back. We’re going to continue to get better and that’s what this offseason is about, and that’s what moving forward is.”
OTA's continue through June 10, with mandatory minicamp set to take place from the 14th through 16th.
