The Football Feed
Tony Pollard is now the main running back with the Dallas Cowboys following the departure of Ezekiel Elliott, especially after his breakout season in 2022. The Cowboys made the call to place the franchise tag on Pollard earlier this year, and Pollard decided to sign
However, the deadline came and went for him to sign a long term deal, meaning that he'll be playing out the upcoming 2023 NFL season on the franchise tag, earning a total of $10.091 million.
Team CEO Stephen Jones revealed this week that the team did in fact offer him a long term contract, but does not believe it was given much serious consideration.
“We offered Tony (Pollard) a long-term deal." Just like team did last year with TE Dalton Schultz on franchise tag, Jones noted. "We're going to play under the tag this year and respect that, and we'll see where we go moving forward."
Will a new deal get done between the two sides that will ensure that Pollard will remain in Dallas for the long haul?
