Some surprising news came through yesterday when the Arizona Cardinals made the decision to cut wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins after three seasons. Could the Dallas Cowboys come calling?
According to Hopkins, there are three things he's looking for in choosing a new team: stable ownership, a quarterback who loves the game, and great defense:
"What I want is stable management upstairs. I think that's something that I haven't really had the past couple years of my career coming from Houston to being in Arizona. I've been through three to four GMs in my career," Hopkins said. "A QB who loves the game, a QB who brings everybody on board with him, pushes not just himself but people around him. I don't need a great QB. I've done it with subpar QB. Just a QB who loves the game like I do."
"And a great defense. I think defense wins championships. For me, that's it. Great management, a QB who loves the game and a great defense."
The total betting odds, courtesy of BetOnline, are as follows:
Dallas Cowboys 2/1
Kansas City Chiefs 4/1
New England Patriots 5/1
Buffalo Bills 6/1
Philadelphia Eagles 7/1
Baltimore Ravens 8/1
New York Giants 9/1
Chicago Bears 12/1
New York Jets 14/1
Cleveland Browns 16/1
Jacksonville Jaguars 18/1
Green Bay Packers 20/1
Los Angeles Chargers 20/1
Las Vegas Raiders 25/1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25/1
And you know that team owner and garner lamenter Jerry Jones is always willing to spend to get to the highest odds of winning another Super Bowl.
"You’d be shocked to know the size of check I would write for a Super Bowl,'' Jones likes to say. "It’d be obscene. There’s nothing that I would not do financially to get a Super Bowl. So, that’s a given.''
Cowboys fans, how would you like to see Hopkins in a Dallas uniform in 2023?
