The good news for the Dallas Cowboys is that they were able to dominate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium last night thanks to an impressive performance from quarterback Dak Prescott while also at the same time completely shutting down 45 year old future Hall of Famer Tom Brady on the other side.
However, one particular member of the Cowboys is now forever etched in NFL history, and not for a good reason. Kicker Brett Maher missed an unbelievable four extra point attempts following Cowboys touchdowns, the most ever in a single game.
Maher was trending on Twitter for his inexplicable misses, and also drew strong reactions from both Peyton and Eli Manning on the "Manningcast" during the game. And you can bet that Prescott himself couldn't believe what he was seeing, judging by his reaction that was captured by television cameras on the sidelines.
Prescott visibly shouted "Go for f***ing two" after Maher missed his third extra point attempt of the night:
However, Prescott was in a much more forgiving mood afterward, explaining that he's experienced off-nights as well and that he fully expects Maher to come back much better against the 49ers.
“I just played like sh— a week ago," Prescott saidin his postgame press conference. "So I mean, that happens…Knowing what that guy has done with resiliency he's shown throughout his career, personally, no doubt that he will come back next week and be perfect.”
The Cowboys will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers next week, looking to avenge their playoff loss from last season.
