Dallas Cowboys fans demand return of Ezekiel Elliott!
Is the door still open?
The Football Feed
The Dallas Cowboys are going to be without running back Ronald Jones for the first two games of the upcoming 2023 NFL season after he was busted for violating the NFL's PED policy. He maintains that he didn't knowingly violate the rules, but unfortunately, it didn't buy him any good will.
In the meantime, former Cowboys running back and fan favorite Ezekiel Elliott remains on the open market as a free agent after being cut by the team earlier in the year. And some fans took the opportunity to react to the Jones suspension by asking that team owner and general manager Jerry Jones bring back Elliott on social media.
Jones himself appeared to indicate that the door was still open for Elliott to return to the Cowboys at some point, but that he wanted to take the chance to evaluate the team backup running backs behind Tony Pollard before making that call. In the meantime, Elliott has already met with the New England Patriots and is also reportedly drawing interest from the New York Jets.
Cowboys fans, just how big of a chance is there for Elliott to realistically return to the Cowboys in 2023, and would that even be the right call to make?
