Well, this is devastating news for the Philadelphia Eagles and exactly what they did not need to have happen as they kicked off the NFL preseason.
Linebacker Shaun Bradley, who was taken by the Eagles with the 196th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, ruptured his Achilles tendon during Saturday's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, and will be unavailable to the team for the entire 2023 NFL season.
The injury took place in the third quarter of the Eagles 20-19 loss to the Ravens; he would be surrounded by teammates prior to being carted off the field and to the locker room.
He would later confirm the unfortunate news on his Instagram account along with a message of thanks and appreciation to the fans:
"Thank you to everyone who has reached out an kept me in their prayers…. It was needed… not how i wanted the season to end for me…. But i believe that god truly does give his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers… ive been beating the odds my entire life… im not even suppose to be here…just another chapter in my story… I will be back better than i ever was… i can promise that…Aint abt who bleed first… its abt who Standin last!!! Love ❤️🙏"
Best of luck to Bradley in his recovery from the devastating injury.
