The Dallas Cowboys offense was near non-existent in their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, managing only a single field goal as part of the 19-3 setback. Of course, it didn't help that RB Ezekiel Elliott only rushed for 52 yards over the course of the evening.
And while Elliott certainly wasn't the only portion of the Dallas offense that struggled, it was enough to draw the attention of ESPN analyst Damien Woody, who essentially was ready to file a missing person's report for the RB.
“Jerry Jones talked about Ezekiel Elliott,” Woody said. “Where is he? Where is Zeke? He’s on the back of a milk carton. He’s supposed to be eating and doing all that stuff. Where’s he eating at?”
To his credit, Elliott stated afterward that he'd like more touches in Week 2.
“I think we came in and played well in the run game,’’ Elliott said. “The efficiency was there. We’ve just got to commit to it. Get the runs. Wear on that defense. We’ve got to lean on them.”
The Cowboys and Bengals will kick off tomorrow from AT&T Stadium starting at 4:25 PM EST, and the Cowboys will be looking to improve to 1-1 on the year.
