Professional sports can be extremely polarizing, especially amongst fans who have been raised generation to generation to love one team and hate another. The NFL's Dallas Cowboys, right or wrong, have been known by the moniker of "America's Team" for the last several years, despite not having won a Super Bowl since the mid 1990's.
And with arguably the biggest fan base in the NFL, being known as "America's Team" certainly is a valid claim to fame. And one well-known fan of the Cowboys certainly agrees with that sentiment.
Award winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx may live in the sunny confines of Southern California, but he'll always be a Cowboys fan at heart. And in fact, he has a message for anyone who simply calls them the Cowboys.
“It’s tough living in L.A. when you’re a Cowboys fan," he said. "It’s tough living anywhere when you’re a Cowboys fan. A lot of times people say our name wrong. The say Dallas Cowboys, I say, America’s Team. It’s America’s Team.”
“I’ve been a Cowboys’ fan for so long,” Foxx continued “Back in the day, Roger Staubach, as a matter of fact that’s my alias when I stay at hotels. This year, we’re really excited, we didn’t get it done against the 49ers. But at the same time, it’s like having a new coach, COVID and these other things, so maybe it derailed us in some areas. This year, I saw Dak at a restaurant slim. Jaw line. Everything look good. We got high hopes this year.”
