With the trade deadline passed, the real playoff race can now begin.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, this was the busiest year in terms of player movement. A record year where some stars, like Christian McCaffrey, left their teams to improve others.
He also reports that a handful of undisclosed teams have contacted the league to push back the trade deadline. With the Deadline currently falling in Week 8, they reportedly would like to see it pushed back to Week 10 or 12.
Schefter thinks that it wouldn't be surprising if the league agreed to this change. A few years ago, they made several changes, including the expansion of the practice squad, to accommodate the teams.
A move that could favor teams that could make more informed and strategic choices. The issue will be presented to the league by the end of the month and probably voted on next spring.
