Pittsburgh Steelers interested in acquiring major star
What an addition this would be!
The Football Feed
Better hold your breath, Steelers fans. It looks like there's a realistic chance that this could be happening.
According to a recently released report, the Steelers are considered among the favorites to be landing the services of Washington Commanders star defensive lineman Chase Young.
Right now, the odds set by BetOnlinehave the Steelers tied with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers with an 8/1 chance to land Young. Meanwhile, according to Jeff Hartman of Behind The Steel Curtain, Pittsburgh is interested in exploring avenues to bring Young to the Steel City.
As it currently stands, the favorites to land Young are led by the Detroit Lions (4/1), followed by the Seattle Seahawks (5/1) and the Chicago Bears (6/1) and New York Giants (6/1).
Young may have earned a Pro Bowl spot and won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, but his career has since been hampered by injuries. He's only appeared in 22 games since the 2020 season thanks to a tear in his right ACL and patellar tendon.
He's about to enter the final season of his rookie deal, and it would be a massive addition for the Steelers defensive corps that already features the likes of T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward.
Steelers fans, just how great would it be to add another bonafide star on the defensive side of the ball for the upcoming 2023 season? It would definitely go a long way in increasing the odds for Pittsburgh to make a return to the postseason and give head coach Mike Tomlin yet another winning season. But there's going to be some serious competition for Young - can general manager Omar Khan outmaneuver his peers?
