Report: Cowboys almost made last minute major trade

The 2022 NFL Trade Deadline has officially come and gone, and the Dallas Cowboys decided not to make any moves and stand pat. Currently, they're 2nd overall in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles with a solid 6-2 record through the first eight games of the season, and team owner and general manager Jerry Jones saw fit to keep his squad how it is moving forward.

But how closer were they to pulling the trigger on bringing aboard a significant addition? According to recently released reports, they were very close to it. 

According to ESPN's Ed Werner, the Cowboys were in discussions with with the Houston Texans regarding acquiring wide receiver Brandin Cooks that went "until the final minutes". According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans were also considering potentially dealing Cooks to the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams. 

It seems as though Cooks wasn't exactly pleased with still being a Texan:
