Report: Steelers interested in Pro Bowl cornerback
Could he make his way to Pittsburgh?
The Football Feed
The Pittsburgh Steelers will surely be making some personnel moves on the field following their 2-6 start to the season that would ultimately result in their missing the postseason for the first time in three years, despite it being another winning season for head coach Mike Tomlin at 9-8.
Their cornerback situation is a bit stick with Cam Sutton set to become a free agent, while Ahkello Witherspoon and William Jackson III are both coming off injuries. According to a recently released report, the Steelers have shown interest in Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams, just one year removed from their Super Bowl title of 2022.
Originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 5th overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey quickly made his presence felt, earning two Pro Bowl nominations along with being named All-Pro in 2017. He would also help the Jaguars qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
In October of 2019, he would be dealt to the Los Angeles Rams for a trio of draft selections; it wouldn't be long before he would agree to a five-year, $105 million extension to stay put in Hollywood.
He has three years remaining on his current deal with a $25.2 million cap hit. He also has an opt-out option following the 2023 NFL season, allowing any squad to release him with a $11.4 million dead money hit.
Steelers fans, what would you think of bringing Ramsey to the Steel City?
