Russell Wilson makes major announcement
It's been a terrible 1st year in Denver.

To say that it was an absolutely disastrous first season with the Denver Broncos for former Super Bowl winning quarterback Russell Wilson would be a major understatement. He's gone through his worst statistical season, throwing a total of just 13 touchdown passes along with 10 interceptions. Certainly not the kind of production that the Broncos were expecting when they acquired him and signed him to a massive five year, $245 million extension.
And according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Wilson will be taking time to "examine everything" in order to ensure that next season goes much better.
Rapoport writes:
"His preparation. His offseason routine to be ready for the season. His in-season routine to be ready for each individual game. What he does. How he does it. What it looks like."
"His goal, according to people familiar with his plans, is to do everything in his power to make sure it never happens again."
Denver's horrible season was capped with the firing of 1st year head coach Nathaniel Hackett last week after he went 4-12. Could Wilson have done something?
"I wish I could have played better for him," Wilson said of Hackett.
"I think you always try to find ways to improve every day," Wilson continued. "You try find things to do and you work on it and everything else."
Can Wilson and the Broncos rebound from this awful season in 2023? There is certainly plenty riding on it, considering the amount of term and money that the Broncos are paying Wilson. Needless to say, both fans and team ownership want to see a considerable return on their investment, and it just hasn't happened this season - in extremely uncharacteristic fashion.
A former Super Bowl winner, Wilson certainly has plenty of pride and will want to right the ship in order for his own personal legacy at the very least.
