New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is in need of a new contract, but things aren't exactly optimistic for the two sides working out a new pact. He's been unable to attend Giants OTAs at the practice facility without his new deal, and suggested that he's also willing to sit out the season.
He was also sure to cite some of his peers at the position, including Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard.
"I see (the market), I'm aware of that. I feel like I'm (worth) more than that," Barkley said. "I feel we finally got to a place where we're a successful team. We got to start winning games, and I was a big part of that. ... When you come to my situation, I feel like I helped our team a lot. Not only on the field, but off the field, as a leader."
Barkley racked up 1,312 yards rushing, 10 touchdowns and tied for the team lead with 57 receptions last season.
