The Denver Broncos have not enjoyed the start that they and their fans were hoping for after the hiring of former Super Bowl-winning coach Sean Payton.
The Broncos have dropped both of their games to start the season, immediately dropping their chances of a postseason berth in serious danger.
And already, there appears to be an issue between Payton and quarterback Russell Wilson, who desperately needed a bounce back gear after the disaster that was his first year in Denver in 2022.
Payton appeared to lay the blame at Wilson’s feet for both losses to start the year and said that he could soon be required to wear a wristband:
“There were a number of drives where we were late with personnel, getting out of the huddle we took a while,” he said. “That has to change”
“We had to burn timeouts in the first half, and I’m not used to doing that. We have to be better. I have to be better. Russ has to be sharper with getting the play out, and then we have to look at how much we have in. If we need to wristband it, we will.”
The Broncos absolutely have to rebound in Week 3 when they take on the 2-0 Miami Dolphins tomorrow in the Sunshine State.
