Skip Bayless calls out Cowboys' Micah Parsons

Was Parsons out of line with this?

NFL analyst Skip Bayless is taking issue with what he believes is an unwritten rule that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is apparently guilty of breaking.

As most of you know, the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have been bitter rivals for decades now, and it certainly doesn't help things on the Dallas side that the 49ers have beaten them in the postseason two years in a row now. And though they don't face each other in the regular season until October 8, Parsons isn't shying away from praising 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

"I just don't think we should sleep on Brock Purdy no more,"Parsons said. “Yes, he was a seventh-round pick. Yes, he came in late in that season and won six straight games, and took them to the NFC championship before his injury. But, Purdy, you will not be slept on no more, brother. I think people are coming for you the same way they come for (Jets QB Aaron) Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes. Yes, you’re surrounded by a great team, but you are playing your butt off and you’ve got one hell of a story, brother.”

That did not sit well with Bayless, who believes that one simply does not praise a member of their historical rivals like that - especially a team that's ended their season two years running now.

“Micah Parsons has a nemesis every year called the San Francisco 49ers," Bayless said. “I have no problem with what Micah said about Brock Purdy because he’s just dead-on right… but you play for the Cowboys, whose quarterback is Dak Prescott, who is on a hot seat in Dallas right now. There’s an unwritten rule here, a locker room rule here, that you don’t rave about the quarterback of your archrival and nemesis! You just don’t do it.”

Is Bayless right on the money here?
