The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to do battle with the Buffalo Bills tomorrow at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo in the National Football League's opening weekend of the postseason, but thanks to concerning weather, there remains a chance that the game could be postponed or even moved to a new location.
Record levels of snow and wind are expected; according to weather reports, the high is expected to be 24 degrees and gusts of wind up to 50 mils per hour are expected. Meanwhile, up to seven inches of snowfall are possible.
Chief NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated that the League's priority remains public safety:
“We have stayed in close contact with Governor Hochul’s office regarding conditions, and our focus, as always, will remain on public safety,” McCarthy said.
Per WABC:
"Buffalo and western New York could face dangerous blizzard-like conditions this weekend, setting the stage for what may be horrendous weather for the Bills playoff game against Pittsburgh.”
“Bitterly cold air is expected to clash with intense lake-effect snow that could amount to 1-3 feet."
