The Pittsburgh Steelers gathered today for mandatory minicamp, but there was one notable absence that immediately stood out.
Defensive leader T.J. Watt was not in attendance, but in the words of head coach Mike Tomlin, it was due to an excused absence.
Watt wasn't the only notable Steelers player missing. Reserve offensive lineman Ryan McCollum and punter Pressley Harvin III were also not in attendance.
“Everyone was here that I anticipated being here,” Tomlin said. “I gave a couple of guys an excused absence for a variety of reasons. T.J. wasn’t here. Ryan McCollum wasn’t here. I’m sure you guys missed T.J. I’m sure none of you missed Ryan McCollum.”
Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be anything to worry about.
