Terrible news released for 49ers QB Trey Lance

Worst possible scenario.

As we reported earlier, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance suffered a lower body injury in the middle of the first quarter.

A little later, the organization announced that Trey Lance would not return to the game. A serious injury just as we could see when he was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter just reported the worst case scenario. It looks like the injury is serious enough to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport just reported that head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Lance's ankle is broken and he will have surgery tomorrow.

ESPN analyst and former NFL player Dan Orlovsky also expressed his concerns.

Jimmy Garappolo
took over as QB for the rest of the game. After months of negotiations, he finally signed with the 49ers. For someone who wasn't supposed to see a lot of playing time, he will probably be the main man the rest of the season.

The San Francisco organization must be happy they didn't let him go.

The 49ers won 27-7 over the Seattle Seahawks in front of their home fans at Levi Stadium.
