Tony Pollard hints at future with Dallas Cowboys
Will he be sticking around for the long haul?

Tony Pollard is now the main running back with the Dallas Cowboys following the departure of Ezekiel Elliott, especially after his breakout season in 2022. The Cowboys made the call to place the franchise tag on Pollard earlier this year, and Pollard decided to sign.
He is due $10.091 million this year; he and the Cowboys will have until mid-July to work out a long term deal. And it looks as though that's going to be the case before too long. According to a recently released report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, both sides are interested in extending their relationship long term:
“He’s in a situation, I’m told, where he’s looking at this as a win-win because he signed his franchise tag tender at the $10.1 million clip. He’s injured, coming off ankle surgery, so he’s got that security regardless,” Fowler said. “But if the Cowboys want to step up and try to do a long-term deal he’s certainly open to that. Nothing moving on that yet but there’s a lot of time before that July 17 deadline. Certainly, both sides are expected to reconvene and talk about a potential long-term deal. The Cowboys would love to get his cap hit down a little bit so they could sign some other players.”
Last season, Pollard racked up 1,007 yards with nine touchdowns on 193 attempts while making $965,000 in what was the final year of his four year deal.
