UH OH: TJ Watt may have suffered injury setback
Not the news Steelers fans wanted to hear.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been without the services of reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year TJ Watt after he suffered a pectoral injury in his team's Week 1 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in which he amassed six tackles, three tackles for loss, and an interception.
And while he's been working his way towards a return to action with the trout that he could even be back for Week 6, it appears as though those plans could potentially be on hold.
According to remarks made by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer Ray Fittipaldo on The Cook and Joe Show on 93.7 The Fan, it sounds as though Watt may have suffered a setback.
"I wanna say last Wednesday, he was out there working," Fittipaldo said. "He was visible at practice and since then, he hasn't been at practice. I didn't put eyes on him at the Jets game, and so a lot of people are putting two and two together, and I'm in that camp. I think some sort of setback occurred with his rehab. So I don't think he's going to be a candidate to come off the IR next week, even though he's eligible."
While this remains nothing but speculation with no official word from the team, it certainly wouldn't be an encouraging sign.
