The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most iconic brands, not only in sports but in marketing as a whole. Needless to say, their uniforms and helmet design have stood the test of time.
However, there will be a minor alteration to their helmet during tonight's game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys will include a red stripe on the helmet in order to honor 17 different recipients of the Medal of Honor.
Cowboys guard Zack Martin discussed what the gesture meant to him:
“We thought it would be a really cool thing to honor those recipients with the entire offensive line,” Zack Martin said Thursday, via the Dallas Morning News. “It really is humbling. I got a chance to meet ‘Flo’ (retired U.S. Army Capt. Florent Groberg), a Medal of Honor recipient, a couple weeks ago. I just think it’s so cool. I don’t think a lot of people understand the sacrifice that these guys have gone through.”
The Cowboys take on the Colts tonight at 8:20 PM EST from AT&T Stadium.
