Micah Parsons is the reigning National Football League Defensive Rookie of the Year, and he'll be playing a key role in tomorrow's crucial postseason game as he and the Dallas Cowboys look to go on an extended run and avenge last season's early exit at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.
But for Parsons, he missed practice on Saturday. And while a key player missing practice so soon to a postseason game is usually a bad thing, there was a great reason for his absence - he's now a father.
“7.1 ounces!” Parsons tweeted. Thank you God for blessing me with the most beautiful baby girl! #girldad”
The Dallas Cowboys retweeted Parsons and wrote, “The newest member of #CowboysNation has arrived just in time to watch her dad in the #NFLPlayoffs! Congrats to Micah and his growing pride!”
For Parsons, who has 13.5 sacks on the season, he's expected to be back and ready to go against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.
